Project 2: AI-Powered Mobile App: SupplyWise Assistant

Objective:
Provide planners with a speech-to-text-powered mobile app that allows them to quickly inquire about the planning status of supply chain elements. This AI-powered app offers contextually accurate responses, enabling planners to make informed decisions on the go.

Key Features:

  • Natural Language Processing (NLP):
Users can ask questions in natural language, either through speech or text input, making the app highly intuitive and user-friendly. The AI-powered chatbot responds by pulling data from the datamart and providing the latest supply chain planning information.
  • Function-Driven Responses:
The chatbot selects from a range of predefined functions depending on the user’s query. For example, when a user asks, “What are my top 10 stockouts?” the chatbot invokes the stockout function to retrieve the relevant data. Similarly, if asked, “What is the global status of product Y?” the chatbot pulls from the product overview function to provide details from all locations where the product is stored.
  • Scenario 1: Stockout Inquiry:
    • User Question: “What are my top 10 stockouts?”
    • Process: The chatbot queries the stockout function to retrieve data on current stockouts.
    • Response: “Here are the top 10 stockouts: 1. [Stockout 1 details], 2. [Stockout 2 details]…”
  • Scenario 2: Product Status Overview:
    • User Question: “What is the global status of Product Y?”
    • Process: The chatbot retrieves information from the product overview function, detailing stock levels and demand across different locations.
    • Response: “Product Y is stocked in 2 locations. In Manchester, you are overstocked with 400 units. In NYC, you have 200 units with no demand for the past 3 months.”

Benefits:
The SupplyWise Assistant enables planners to access critical supply chain data anywhere, anytime. By providing immediate and contextually relevant responses, the app reduces the need for manual data checks and increases the speed and accuracy of decision-making. Planners can stay informed on the go, making the app a valuable tool for improving supply chain efficiency.
